Fats, Oils and Grease Management
Not only is grease bad for your health; it’s terrible for your plumbing. Fats, oil and grease (a.k.a. FOG) washed down your kitchen sink end up sticking to the walls of your pipes. Over time, FOG buildup can lead to sewage spills in your home or in nearby rivers and streams.
What can YOU do?
- Cool fats, oils and grease (FOG) and place liquids in a container.
- Scrape any solids into the trash.
- Check to see if you community recycles grease. Go to earth911.com and search for cooking oil. If grease recycling is not an option please put your FOG container into the trash when it is full.
